Cole Skuse has added to his squad ahead of Saturday’s home match with Walthamstow as forward Tom Thulborn joins from Thurlow Nunn League side Lakenheath FC.
Thulborn joins the Blues having found the net 14 times for the Heath this season in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division, and once again teams up with goalkeeper Charlie Beckwith who joined earlier in the month from the same club.
Tom joined Lakenheath in August 2020 from Haverhill Borough having found the net 19 times during the covid disrupted season, and he went on to have similar success with Lakenheath going on to score another 19 goals at his new club in the 2021-22 season as they lifted the Suffolk Senior Cup.
Tom had originally progressed through the Ely City youth set-up and made his way into their first team at the age of 18 before going onto play for Haverhill Borough and then to Lakenheath where he has been a key player for the past three seasons.
Manager Cole Skuse said “I am pleased to welcome Tom to the club. He was someone we had been looking at this season as his goalscoring record caught our eye. I know there was other clubs also getting ready to approach him, so we put our approach into Lakenheath last week and we are pleased he has decided to join us”
“He has 14 goals already this season so we are hoping he can bring that clinical finishing across to us. With the arrival of Ollie Canfer last week we have added two quality players to the squad over the past week and we are confident that this will change our fortunes on the pitch”
Subject to the clearance of paperwork, Tom will be part of the squad that face Walthamstow FC at the OCS Ram Meadow Stadium on Saturday, kick off 3pm.
