Will Allison (3') and Finlay Plant (53') on target as Bury record their sixth league win of the campaign.

Bury Town Under-18s maintain their 100% home league record with a good performance against Lakenheath.

The game began lively as Lakenheath swung in a free-kick into the box from the left wing, finding Jack Heider who smacked it behind the near post for a corner in the second minute. The visitors then drew a good save out off Foreman from the resulting corner, finding Corybn at the near post to tap towards the near corner only for the keeper to react well to gather on 3 minutes. Bury though went up the other end and broke the deadlock moments later, Jack Heider delivering a good low ball across to Will Allison a few yards out at the back post to tap home into the top right corner, 1-0 Bury.

Lakenheath then brought some good defending out of the home side in search of an equaliser, having a good chance to draw level on 8 minutes as a good low ball in on the left towards Bond was intercepted vitally by Heider, who put the ball behind his near post for a corner- which found Ramsay 7-yards out at the near post to shoot low first time at goal but went an inch wide of the bottom far corner. The visitors then went close 4 minutes later, through in the box with an open goal to aim at only for some great last ditch defending to prevent an equaliser clearing off the goal-line after running back.

Lakenheath then went close to restoring parity on 17 minutes, the free-kick in on the right-wing just inside the Bury half found a head close to the back post who headed just over the crossbar. Eight minutes later, Bond's cross in on the right wing picked out Delgado six-yards out to loop a header up to the top near corner, but was an easy catch for Foreman. Bury however had a half-chance on the half-hour mark, shooting low from range but was easy for the keeper to gather off his line, whilst Lakenheath then went close again four minutes later. A good ball in on the left was flicked onto a green shirt six-yards out at the near post as Andrew Conroy did brilliantly well to intercept and put behind of the far post.

Foreman then denied the visitors well a minute later, through on the left-hand side in the box to see the first low shot denied well before the keeper got down well out to make a great save at his six-yard line to beat behind his bottom near corner. Foreman was alert once more on 38 minutes, Magin's cross in on the right to Corybn inside the six-yard box at the near post forced the Bury stopper to fly out and punch clear, followed a minute later by a Lakenheath header from close range on the left going over the bar from a free-kick.

Overall the first half was fairly tight in midfield, though Lakenheath did have some good chances to draw level, Wells' low 25-yarder going narrowly wide of the bottom near corner on 41 minutes. Bury then had the last chance of the first half on 43 minutes, Heider's good cross in on the left found a Bury man close to the far post whose shot was off target but offside anyway. Bury then went into the break a goal up thanks to Will Allison's 3rd minute opener.

HALF TIME: Bury Town 1-0 Lakenheath

Bury meanwhile dominated and controlled practically all of the second half and went close to doubling their lead on 47 minutes, Finlay Plant hitting a great strike at goal from the right hand side in the box box towards the top far corner, forcing the keeper slightly off his line to get a strong hand up to beat it away. Bury then had a shot blocked on the edge of the box after good play from Ethan Mills on 52 minutes, before play was pulled back for a foul on the Bury forward.

Finlay Plant stepped up and made it count, curling a great 25-yarder which looped just over the keeper and into the top left corner, 2-0 Bury after 53 minutes. In response, Lakenheath headed straight at Foreman at his left post from close range on 54 minutes, prior to drawing a great save out off the Bury stopper on 56 minutes. The visitors corner in on the left was whipped in dangerously towards the top far corner with a man lurking, forcing Foreman to make a fantastic flying save to claw the ball away from goal.

The home side though continued to search for a third goal in the 63rd minute, Callum Steed's low cross in on the right found Andrew Conroy eight yards out at the near post as the latter's low shot was deflected behind the bottom near corner for a Bury corner. The home side then went close from a corner on the left two minutes later, finding a Lakenheath defender at his near post from 8-yards whose sliced clearance went backwards and an inch over his own crossbar.

As the game drew to an end chances became few and far between, with the next opportunity going the way of Lakenheath on 73 minutes, Ramsay's attempt on the left edge of the box though was easy for Foreman to catch at his top near corner, whilst the visitors ball in on the right seconds later went just over off the top of the crossbar. Between then and the 89th minute not much notable really happened, although Bury enjoyed a lot of possession and created good chances, only not really coming to anything major. Lakenheath's final chance of the game then came on 89 minutes, the shot on the left edge of the box was kept out well by Foreman at the bottom far corner.

Bury though went close to doubling their lead a minute into added time, Ethan Mills was set through down the right wing to race past his man well into the box on the same side, though the keeper was off his line well to kick away the shot. The last chance of the evening then came two minutes later, the cross in on the left wing found Kyran Cooper unmarked close to the near post but was easy for the keeper to catch at his top near corner in what was the last action of a good game as Bury kicked off the new decade with two goals, a clean sheet and ultimately three points.
