Goals from Amin Mohammed (brace), Ethan Mills, Will Allison and skipper Andrew Conroy put the icing on the cake for Bury after an excellent all round team performance.

Bury Town Under-18s record another excellent victory with a 5-1 ruthless display over their Haverhill Rovers counterparts.

The home side avenged their County Cup exit on penalties to the same opposition in a superb all round team performance from start to finish. Rovers though had the first chance on 2 minutes, an attempt on the left wing edge of the box went straight to Wilson in the Bury goal. Rovers then sailed a 30-yard free-kick over the crossbar on 4 minutes, as Bury broke the deadlock just a minute later. Amin Mohammed firing a good low shot into the bottom left corner, 1-0 Bury. The goalscorer then had another shot at goal on 15 minutes, this time fed through on the right hand side in the box the striker turned in space to shoot just over the top near corner. Rovers meanwhile found Stone through on the left edge of the box, only to see his low shot blocked and cleared away by the home defence on 17 minutes, whilst a Bury corner on the right seven minutes later was partially cleared as far as Plant rushing onto the edge of the box to strike first time at goal and just over the top right corner. The young Blues doubled their lead though on 25 minutes, Amin Mohammed this time turned provider, setting Ethan Mills through on the right hand side in the box to finish cooly past the Rovers keeper into the bottom far corner, 2-0 Bury.

Two minutes later though, Rovers were awarded the chance to half the deficit from a spot-kick after a Bury defender was adjudged to have slid in and fouled his opponent. Up stepped Robinson to send Wilson and wrong way and dispatch into the bottom middle section of the net, slightly to the left to make it 2-1 in the twenty-eight minute. Rovers then shot low and wide of the bottom left corner on the half-hour mark, whilst Bury had another great chance to restore their two goal lead on 32 minutes, a free-kick into the box from the left wing was spilt by the keeper who had came off his line to catch, falling to Amin Mohammed 7 yards from the open goal on the left who just couldn't get clean contact on his volley at the bottom near corner, instead slicing welcomingly for the keeper to pounce on. Rovers goalscorer Robinson meanwhile had another chance to add to both his and Rovers' tally, this time found on the left edge of the box in space to shoot only to fire over and wide of the top left corner on 38 minutes. Good play from the visitors then saw Rovers pass a good crossfield ball across to the left wing, where another Red shirt was fed this time on the left byline inside the Bury box who shot straight into Wilson's chest at his near post on 42 minutes. Good defending from Bury ensured the hosts went into the interval 2-1 up on the stroke of half-time, as the home defence deflected Stone's low shot on the right edge of the box behind the near post for a corner.

Half Time: Bury Town U18s 2 Haverhill Rovers U18s 1

The second half began with Bury having a chance a minute after the restart, the hosts' corner in on the right was taken short, where it was whipped in and put low and wide at the near post. Bury were then awarded a free-kick on the left-wing edge of the box on 49 minutes, the Blues found Ethan Mills at the far post close to goal to head towards goal but straight at the keeper's chest at his left post. Rovers meanwhile tested Wilson three minutes later, the young shot-stopper though was up to the task to dive across and catch a low shot on the right down at his bottom far corner. Rovers then had a free-kick from range on the right on 56 minutes, swinging the ball into the left hand side in the box where the ball was directed low towards goal at the near post but jte offside flag was up anyway. Bury extended their lead 7 minutes later however, Amin Mohammed released Angus Mills racing down the right with a great low ball past the defence, as the latter reached the right byline in the box to draw the keeper to his near post, allowing Mills to then square across to Mohammed in the middle of the six-yard box on a plate to tap home into the bottom middle section of the practically empty net, his second and Bury's third to make it 3-1. Bury were not satisfied at any point though with their lead, always looking to extend it as Tim Pinyoun got through on the left hand side in the box to shoot low towards the bottom far corner but was gathered well by the keeper diving down on 64 minutes.

Mohammed was then found on the right hand side in the box to shoot low at goal a minute later, though the shot was blocked just before the forward went down in the box, the appeals for a penalty were dismissed by the referee. Haverhill on the other hand had a free-kick from 25-yards on the left to curl and dip the set-piece just over the top near corner on 69 minutes. Bury though continued to look for a fourth goal of the afternoon with 20 minutes left to play, Amin Mohammed's free-kick on the right edge of the box was curling round the wall towards the top near corner but was deflected just past all stood on the left hand side in the box and behind for a corner. Bury then added to their lead on 71 minutes in excellent style, Will Allison was fed by Amin Mohammed in space to aim at goal on the right edge of the box. The former cleverly spotted the keeper slightly off his line to exquisitely lob the keeper, originally seeming to go just over the bar until it dip just over the keeper and under the bar at the last minute, what a goal! 4-1 Bury. Mohammed then picked out Angus Mills on the left hand side in the box as the latter beat a couple of defenders to get through close to goal with Pinyoun sliding in just behind him, as Mills' squared ball across was just intercepted in time by the keeper, diving down well to catch one handed on 74 minutes. Amin Mohammed was unlucky not to seal his hat-trick on 75 minutes, the striker was found by a fantastic cross in on the right finding Mohammed whose great instinctive overhead kick close to goal at the near post just creeping into the bottom near corner until the keeper dived across and did enough to tip behind. Three minutes later meanwhile, great persistence from Bury saw the hosts, win back possession High up the pitch in Haverhill's half with a ball into the box on the left towards Mohammed being just missed by the latter, the goalscorer almost punished some slight confusion in the Rovers defence, stealing in to chest towards go from close range but straight at the keeper. Rovers then had another chance on the right edge of the box, though the shot was blocked on 80 minutes, before Wilson was drawn into a good diving save on 82 minutes. Rovers kept the ball in well on the left byline inside the Bury box to cross low into the middle though Wilson dived across to his left at his near post to take a superb catch. Bury tthoygh had another chance to add to their lead, a free-kick on the right 25-yards from goal found the head of Amin Mohammed at the near post in the box although the striker was only able to head low and just wide of the same post on 88 minutes. Rovers at the other end had a decent opportunity of their own a minute later, striking fiercely at goal on the left edge of the box but just wide of the near post. Whilst at the other end, Bury released Amin Mohammed through down the right wing to cross low to Angus Mills around 12-yards out in the middle, as the latter's low first time shot was kicked away by the keeper before Jack Heider was found on the left close to goal shortly after, albeit his shot was blocked a minute into added time. Bury rounded off the scoring on 90+2 minutes thanks to some great awareness and determinatio from skipper Andrew Conroy. A ball into the six yard box saw the Bury defender and Rovers keeper go up for it, as Conroy beat him to it to head over the goal line, 5-1 Bury. The last action of an entertaining evening then came two minutes later, as Amin Mohammed was fed from a short corner on the right to beat Gillies to progress onto the right byline in the box, where the full-back shoved the striker to the ground from behind with the referee deciding to draw proceedings to a close, bringing another good win for the young talented Bury to an end.
