Aveley (A)

Bury beaten by both Aveley and the conditions at Parkside

Blues suffer their third defeat in a row as they lose again. On a very blustery night the high winds and driving rain hindered both side from any kind of flowing game. On 3 minutes a throw in for Bury found Cemal Ramadan close to the box and a low pass in looking for Cruise Nyadzayo but Sam Mvemba made a good interception and cleared the ball. Mvemba had a chance at opening the scoring on 12 minutes when he got in to the Bury box and tested Bury keeper Daniel Barden who made a good block save. A speculative effort on 17 minutes for Aveley from Jason Raad from some distance was taken by the wind and went just wide of the post. Aveley took the lead on 25 minutes with Harry Gibbs putting the ball past Barden and an attempted goal line clearance was a fraction too late as the ball had crossed the line. On 30 minutes Jake Chambers Shaw tried to break through the Aveley defence but was crowded out by three defenders inside the box. On 40 minutes Jason Raad tried another wind assisted long shot but again the ball went just wide of the post.

Half Time: Aveley 1 Bury Town 0

Bury got a stroke of luck early in the second half and grabbed the equalizer. Cruise Nyadzayo got into the box and hit a low powerful shot which went between Aveley keeper David Hughes legs and was defected into the back of the net. Aveley took just four minutes to re stamp their authority on the game and retake the lead on 53 minutes with a long ball into the box by George Sykes which beat everyone and went all the way through to the back of the Bury net. Bury almost grabbed a second equalizer on 68 minutes when Joe Hood had a powerful strike deflected on to the bar. On 77 minutes a clever ball over the defence from Chambers Shaw fell to the feet of Colin Oppong but quick reactions from Aveley keeper David Hughes saw him reach the ball just in time. Aveley killed the game off on 79 minutes when they got their third goal. A cross field ball found Wyan Reid unmarked and Reid worked the ball in to the box and slotted his shot past Daniel Barden. The game was over as a contest and Aveley took a vital win as for Bury it is three defeats in a row as their form continues to decline.
