Another win sees Bury go third in the league

In stormy conditions at Aveley Bury took another vital three points as they look to stay in the playoff places. On 5 minutes Ross Crane got forward for Bury but had his shot blocked. Some good built up play from Bury on 8 minutes saw Cruise Nyadzayo have his low shot saved well by Danny Sambridge. With the high wind assisting Bury a long ball over the defence was met by Cemal Ramadan who had a good chance on 14 minutes but sent his shot high over the bar. Another good chance for Bury came on 17 minutes with a cross into the box which was headed over the bar by Emmanuel Machaya. Grays were struggling with the head wind but on 22 minutes had a chance to open the scoring with a headed chance from Mitchel Hahn which was saved by Ben Mayhew. Bury took the lead on 23 minutes with Carlos Edwards playing a def flick into the path of Nyadzayo who shot low past Sambridge to give Bury the lead. Bury doubled their lead on 29 minutes with Machaya getting down the wing and crossing into the box for Ross Crane to head home Bury’s second goal. On 43 minutes a great through ball from Grays found Ruben Soares junior in the box but he shot low and wide.

Second half saw Bury now playing into the high winds and it showed as Grays now had the wind with them. On 54 minutes a corner whipped in to the Bury box was headed home by Ruben Soares junior to half the deficit for Grays. On 61 minutes a long ball to the far post from Grays almost found Steve King who was running in, but the flight of the ball was just too long. On 67 minutes Cemal Ramadan got to the edge of the box for Bury but shot high and wide. The weather played a massive part in the game as the second half progressed and the game became very scrappy with both sides struggling to cope with the deteriorating conditions. On 83 minutes Gray had a great chance to equalise with a cross into the box which was headed just over the bar by Nathan Fox. A late corner for Grays on 90 minutes saw Lewis Clark with a chance but he shot wide. Bury took the points at the final whistle with two first half goals which proved to be enough to secure all three points and move them up to third in the league.
