Both these playoff place hopefuls had to settle for a point a piece in a hard-fought game at The Denny Bros Stadium. Bury Town boss gave debuts to Ipswich Town youngsters Alex Henderson and Tommy Smith to help lift the burden of the injury crisis, which was made worse by Jake Chambers Shaw serving a one match suspension.
On 8 minutes Coggeshall had a good chance with a cross into the box, which was headed by Ross Wall on to Eoin McKeown, but his shot was deflected out of play. On 16 minutes Ryan Stafford went on a driving run in to the box for Bury but three defenders closed him down before he could get his shot away. Both sides were finding it difficult to get through the defences but a smart attack from Bury on 34 minutes broke the deadlock. Some excellent link up play between Ryan Stafford and Max Maughn ended with a superb through ball to Cemal Ramadan at the far post and he coolly slotted his shot past Ashlee Jones to give Bury the lead. On 41 minutes Ross Crane went on a run in to the box, going past two defenders his shot was saved by the foot of Ashlee Jones to deny Bury a two-goal lead going into the break.

The second half was more of the same with both defences on top. On 45 minutes Cemal Ramadan put a great cross in to the box but a solid headed clearance from Joshua Pollard sent the ball up field. On 53 minutes Ryan Jolland showed good skill to find Ramadan in the box but another good defensive tackle ended the move. Colin Oppong got forward for Bury on 54 minutes and found Ollie Hughes out wide on 54 minutes and Hughes hit his shot just over the bar. On 62 minutes Ramadan played a good ball out the Hughes on the wing and Hughes went on a run in to the box and put a great cross in across the face of goal but with no one close enough to the ball the chance was gone. Oppong went close on 65 minutes breaking into the box and hitting a powerful strike to the top corner but Jones got a hand to it to put the ball out for a corner. On 68 minutes it was Coggeshall who broke through the Bury defences with Robert Harvey getting to a loose ball and netting from close range. Bury had a great chance to take the win on 88 minutes, Cruise Nyadzayo played the ball inside to Crane and hit shot beat the keeper but an exceptional headed clearance from Joshua Pollard ensured the points were shared at the final whistle.
