Bury Town continued their push towards the playoff places with another win which moves The Blues up to seventh in the league

Bury made a quick start and went on the attack on 5 minutes with Josh Curry sending a ball up field to Tom Thulborn and he found Cemal Ramadan on the edge of the box but he shot into the side netting. On 16 minutes a long ball saw Cemal Ramadan outpace the defence as he broke into the box but shot wide of the far post. Redbridge won a free kick on 20 minutes which Henry Day sent deep into the box but a soft header by James Barlow was an east catch for Bury keeper Charlie Beckwith. Bury took the lead on 23 minutes when Oliver Yun played a good ball out of defence for Max Maughn and he found Cemal Ramadan in the box but his effort on goal was saved and Ollie Canfer picked up the ball, created space and scored with the follow up strike. Redbridge went on the attack on 25 minutes with James Barlow getting down the wing but his cross into the box for Ayo Odukoya was too high and too long to be of use. Bury went close to a second goal on 30 minutes when Max Maughn put an inviting cross into the box but Ollie Canfer headed over from close range. On 37 minutes Bury won a free kick on the edge of the Redbridge box which Luke Brown hit with venom but went an inch wide of the far post. In added time at the end of the half a low strike from distance by Joseph Elliott had the Bury keeper saving at full stretch.

Half Time: Bury Town 1 Redbridge 0

Second half Redbridge came out fighting as the deteriorating weather slowed the game down but it was Bury who had the first good chance. On 46 minutes Cemal Ramadan was through on goal on his own and his shot was saved by the foot of the keeper. On 59 minutes Soumen Nandi went on a promising run and got to the edge of the box before he blasted the ball high over the bar. On 62 minutes Redbridge sent a free kick into the Bury box close to goal but Josh Curry was there to head clear. On 76 minutes Redbridge had a corner which Abs Thompson put into the box for Ayo Odukoya but he shot over the bar. A Redbridge free kick on 83 minutes saw Jack Chawner put his shot just wide of the far post. Another Redbridge attack on 88 minutes had Ayo Odukoya heading just wide of the base of the far post. Redbridge were giving it there all to find a goal from somewhere and had another chance on 90 minutes when a loose ball in the Bury box fell to Henry Day who shot high over the bar from close range. As the game went into added time Redbridge had their best chance with Jack Chawner hitting a blistering shot from distance and Charlie Beckwith made a great one handed save. Then on 95 minutes a clever long ball forward from Cemal Ramadan was chased down by Max Maughn who was brought down in the box by Jack Chawner, a red card and a penalty was the result. Cemal Ramadan stepped up to score from the spot to ensure another win for Bury Town as they keep the pressure on the teams around them in the league.
