The Blues took an early lead but four quick fire goals in ten minutes turned the game on its head at the OCS Ram Meadow Stadium

A bright start for Bury Town saw them take the lead on 8 minutes thanks to a solid header from Josh Curry. Then four goals in ten minutes gave Cole Skuse' side a mountain to climb to get anything from the game.
On 12 minutes Samir Ali levelled for the visitors after a quick attack found him in space in the box to slip the ball under the Bury 'keeper. On 14 minutes a long ball out wide was picked up by Samir Ali who put a cross into the box for Callum Fitzer to give Basildon the lead with a good finish. A minute later it was three when another Samir Ali cross was capitalised on by Ben Allen.
Callum Fitzer then grabbed his second goal on 22 minutes with a good strike before Samir Ali added his second goal on 31 minutes with a long range strike from outside the box that went in off the underside of the bar.
After a crazy ten minutes Bury got themselves back on the attack on 36 minutes with Josh Curry putting a long ball over to Jose Santa on the far side of the box but the 'keeper was out quick to collect the ball.
Another Bury attack on 39 minutes saw Oliver Yun get forward to shoot straight into the arms of the 'keeper.
A glimmer of hope came for Bury on 41 minutes with Ethan Mayhew finding the back of the net as he battled hard to score from close range. A frustrating half for Bury after a promising start had left the Blues a huge task second half if they wanted to get anything from the game.

Half Time: Bury Town 2 Basildon United 5

Bury moved players around at the break and did manage to stop the stream of goals as they looked more purposeful at the back. On 48 minutes Luke Brown saw his strike from distance deflected wide.
On 55 minutes Basildon won a corner which was sent into the near post, but Ed Upson was on hand for Bury with a solid header clear. On 56 minutes Max Maughn broke down the wing for Bury and put a cross into the box for Jose Santa who was sent to ground, but the referee was unimpressed and waved play on.
On 63 minutes Basildon were back on the attack and a cross into the box looking for Kye Jude was met by a strong challenge from Ollie Fenn. Cemal Ramadan had a great chance for Bury on 66 minutes but his shot to the near post went just wide of the target. Ramadan powered forward on 69 minutes and found Ethan Mayhew with a good pass, but he put his shot wide from close range.
On 80 minutes Josh Curry sent a good ball forward for Ramadan who carried the ball into the box but his cross to the far post was just too long and the defence got the ball clear.
After all their hard work second half a late defensive mistake from Bury gifted Michael Bareck a sixth goal for Basildon United. The win lifts Basildon up one place to third in the league table, whilst Bury Town remain in 14th position.
