Bury Town come from behind to take a point against in form Walthamstow

Walthamstow looked lively from the start as they moved the ball around well. On 6 minutes the home side won a corner which Kymani Thomas put to the far post and Kevin Songolo had a free header which he put wide. Walthamstow had a shout for a penalty on 12 minutes when Jordan Peart went on a long run from out on the wing to inside the box before he went to ground but the Ref was unimpressed and the game continued. On 15 minutes another Walthamstow attack saw Brian Moses-Songolo set up Michael Bareck to shoot from outside the box but his shot went over the bar. Ezra Agyiri did some great work on the wing for Walthamstow on 20 minutes and got a good cross into the box but a solid header away from Lewis O’Malley ended the attack. Walthamstow went straight back on the attack with Brian Moses-Songolo sending the ball into the box for Johnville Renee but this time Joe White made an excellent challenge to win the ball back for Bury. On 23 minutes Bury went on the attack with Ryan Jolland chesting down a long ball from Joe White and Jolland went on to cross the ball to Ethan Mayhew who saw his strike from outside the box saved well by Roraigh Browne. Bury had another opportunity on 31 minutes when Cemal Ramadan got to the edge of the box but his shot was blocked. Bury went close to an opener on 34 minutes when Ryan Jolland put a corner into the box and Lewis O’Malley headed off the bar and a follow up shot from Ollie Canfer was deflected over the bar. Both sides had chances but it was goalless at the break.

Second half Walthamstow continued to move the ball around well. On 51 minutes Kymani Thomas saw his shot from distance go over the bar. Two minutes later Kevin Songolo sent a long cross field ball out to Ali Njie who shot low and from distance which went just wide of the far post. On 57 minutes another Walthamstow attack saw Ezra Agyiri put a good cross into the box which was headed back into the danger area by Brian Moses-Songolo looking for Kymani Thomas but Bury managed to get the ball clear. On 59 minutes Jordan Peart got into the Bury box but Joe White made another good challenge to win the ball back for Bury. On 61 minutes a long ball forward from Bury found Cemal Ramadan who got into the box and with just the keeper to beat put his shot an inch wide of the far post. Then on 63 minutes Walthamstow made the breakthrough with Brian Moses-Songolo finding the back of the net from close range. Walthamstow almost went two goals up on 68 minutes when they won a free kick on the edge of the box which Johnville Renee put low and past the wall but a superb save from Charlie Beckwith kept Bury in the game. Then on 70 minutes Bury pulled level when Max Maughn drove forward beating his marker and sent the ball into the box. Ollie Canfer let the ball run through to Cemal Ramadan who fired Bury level. The goal lifted Bury who then started to pile on the pressure on the attack. On 77 minutes more excellent work from Max Maughn set up Luke Brown to slip the ball through to Cemal Ramadan but he slipped at the vital moment and his shot lacked power and the keeper made an easy save close to goal. Walthamstow broke forward on 85 minutes and Brian Moses-Songolo found himself one on one with the Bury keeper and Charlie Beckwith made another superb save. Bury pushed hard in the later stages of the second half but were unable to find another goal to win the game and a hard fought out draw was the result.
