Maldon & Tiptree pushed Bury Town all the way as both sides defended well and left very little opportunities for clear cut goal attempts, but a late header from substitute Louie Arnold secured the Blues all three points.
In the 9th minute Bury went on the attack with Luke Brown setting up Cemal Ramadan and his first-time strike stung the hands of 'keeper Luca Collins who collected the ball at the second attempt.
In the next attack Bury had a double chance when Luke Brown had a shot saved and Cemal Ramadan saw his follow up shot blocked. Maldon had a chance on 17 minutes when Harrison Chatting put a free kick into the box which almost found the head of Louis Britton but the ball fell kindly for Bury 'keeper Charlie Beckwith who got down quickly to smother the ball in a crowded box.
Ollie Canfer had a good chance for Bury on 27 minutes when a corner played in to the box by Ed Upson was side footed by Canfer but went over the bar from close range.
Maldon & Tiptree went close a minutes later when Hakeem Sandah put a shot from just outside the box inches wide of the far post.
On 34 minutes Maldon had another chance when Matthew Yates found the right cross into the box for Louis Britton but he miss controlled the ball and it was cleared. Then Hakeem Sandah picked up the ball for Maldon and was allowed to run at goal and got into the box before his good strike was saved well by Charlie Beckwith.
On 44 minutes Cemal Ramadan had a double effort on goal, his first strike was saved and his follow up shot was blocked.

The opening stages of the second half saw Maldon continued to defend well and keep Bury out. On 50 minutes Ollie Canfer played a good ball to Ryan Jolland who went on to the edge of the box but his shot went just wide of the post.
On 54 minutes a counterattack from Maldon saw Hakeem Sandah send the ball forward for Matthew Yates but some excellent defensive cover from Max Maughn stopped the chance.
Ollie Canfer set up Cemal Ramadan on 56 minutes but his strike on goal was saved by Luca Collins. On 73 minutes Louis Britton had two chance to score for Maldon but both efforts were block by some brave defending from Bury.
On 75 minutes Bury went close when substitute Louie Arnold almost finished off an excellent attack from Bury but his low shot from close range which was heading inside the near post was saved by the foot of Luca Collins.
Then with the clock ticking down Bury made the breakthrough on 84 minutes when a corner played in by Ed Upson was headed home off the underside of the bar by Louie Arnold.
On 87 minutes Bury's Luke Brown was on the attack again and he found Ryan Jolland but his strike sailed high over the bar.
A mix up at the back on 90 minutes between Maldon 'keeper Luca Collins and defender Frankie Edwards almost worked kindly for Louie Arnold but Maldon managed to regain control of the ball.
This was a huge three points for Bury as they continue the fight for the highest play-off place possible and keep the pressure on the other teams in the top five with just three games to go.
