Both sides played out the game in an attacking style which led to an open and entertaining afternoon.

Chances were there for both sides too. On 8 minutes Max Maughn set up Luke Brown with a chance to shoot but he shot wide of the mark for Bury. Cemal Ramadan had a good chance for Bury on 12 minutes but his effort beat the keeper but was cleared from close to goal by Josh Hazell. Max Maughn got down the wing for Bury on 21 minutes and his ball into the box was collected by Cemal Ramadan but his shot lacked power and Luke Holt made the save. Lowestoft almost opened the scoring on 22 minutes when Harvey Sayer’s low effort was saved brilliantly with one hand by Charlie Beckwith. Luke Holt was not to be out shone by the Bury keeper when on 29 minutes Cemal Ramadan put a cross into the box for Ollie Canfer to head towards goal and Holt made a superb save. On 38 minutes Cemal Ramadan had an opportunity for Bury when Max Maughn put a good cross into the box and a strike from Luke Brown was save well by Holt but fell to Ramadan who shot wide from close range. Charlie Beckwith made another good save on 39 minutes when Sam Johnson broke into the Bury box and hit a shot with power that was saved. On 40 minutes Ed Upson fought hard to win the ball in midfield and go on a forward run, he found Cemal Ramadan with a good pass but he put his shot over the bar. Jake Reed chased down a ball into the Bury box on 43 minutes and hit a purposeful strike which saw another great save from Charlie Beckwith. Bury came closest to a goal in first half added time when Max Maughn found Cemal Ramadan in the box and his neat pass set up Luke Brown but he hit the post from close range.

Second half was more of the same with plenty of attacking play and good defending. On 50 minutes Max Maughn put a cross into the Lowestoft box which was pick up by Luke Brown but he was immediately swamped by defenders leaving him nowhere to go and the ball was cleared. On 52 minutes Lowestoft had a good chance when Harvey Sayer set up Owen Murphy who shot from close range but wide of the target. Max Maughn got forward for Bury on 63 minutes and got a shot away but the shot was deflected straight to the keeper. Oliver Yun broke forward for Bury on 66 minutes and raced towards goal but the defence raced back with him and did enough to deny any shot. On 67 minutes Cemal Ramadan had a great chance for Bury when a long ball found him one on one with the keeper but the keeper made a good save. On 80 minutes Max Maughn sent a good ball down the wing for Ethan Mayhew but he could not get control of the ball in time to shoot. Lowestoft had a chance on 81 minutes when Harvey Sayer set up Connor Deeks to shoot but his shot went just wide of the near post. Another chance for Lowestoft came on 88 minutes when a long high ball into the box fell to Jake Reed but his shot to the near post was saved well by Charlie Beckwith. A good effort from both sides to go out and win the game but it ended all square at the final whistle.
