Bury reacted well to going behind but Bowers & Pitsea took the win which moves them one point behind Bury Town in the playoff places

Both sides went on the attack from the start which led to an open game first half. On 14 minutes Bowers had a chance to put themselves ahead when Freddie Price put a cross into the box and on to the head of Matt Price but his header was straight at the Bury 'keeper.
Ryan Jolland got Bury on the attack on 24 minutes and set up Luke Brown to shoot but he put his strike well wide of the target. A minute later it was Bowers on the attack with Freddie Price sending a cross into the box but the ball went too close to Charlie Beckwith who plucked the ball from the air.
Bowers almost got off the mark on 28 minutes when a long run forward from Archie Cane gave him the opportunity to send the ball into the box for Ben Williamson who shifted the ball sideways to make space to shoot and hit the bar with a good strike.
On 31 minutes Bury almost broke through the defence when Max Maughn played a great ball through to Luke Brown who then tried to thread the ball through to Ollie Canfer but the defence did enough to clear the ball.
On 42 minutes Bury went on the attack again with Luke Brown working the ball through to Ryan Jolland in the box but his shot was blocked and the ball was cleared. On 45 minutes Bowers had a good chance when a long throw in fell to Benas Vaivada who volleyed the ball wide of the goal.

After a goalless but competitive first half Bowers took the lead early in the second. With 49 minutes on the clock, a carbon copy of their first half chance saw Freddie Price again cross the ball into Matt Price who made no mistake this time and headed home.
Bury then went up a gear as they went in search of a goal and had plenty of chances to get the equaliser. On 62 minutes Ed Upson saw a chance to hit a first-time strike at goal from outside the box but Bowers 'keeper David Hughes got down quick to make the save.
A minute later Ethan Mayhew blasted a strike at goal from outside the box which David Hughes got a fingertip to and send the ball over the bar. From the corner that resulted the ball dropped in the box for Lewis O’Malley but his shot was blocked.
Ed Upson got forward for Bury on 79 minutes and lifted a ball over the defence for Ollie Canfer to chase down but he could not get the ball under control quickly enough to get a shot away.
Then on 80 minutes Bury had another chance when a long ball up field found Louie Arnold in the box but the ball stuck under his feet at the vital moment and the 'keeper collected the ball.
On 83 minutes Oliver Yun brought the ball inside from out on the wing for Bury but he shot wide of the post with his low driven strike.
Bury went inches from an equaliser on 87 minutes when Ed Upson put a free kick off the post. For all Bury’s efforts to get something from the game they could not find a way through and Bowers held on to take the win and end Bury Town’s astonishing run of results.
