Ramadan brace delivers Bury Town the win over Witham Town

Bury Town continued their terrific run of form as they made it eight wins in a row and sixteen games unbeaten with their latest win against Witham Town.

Bury Town picked up their eigth straight Isthmian North Division victory with a hard fought 2-0 win away at Witham Town thanks to a goal in each half from leading goalscorer Cemal Ramadan.
Witham Town made a fast start as on 5 minutes they went on the attack with Liam Whipps going on a run down the wing and finding Joshua Osude who went on into the box to shoot from a wide angle but Bury 'keeper Charlie Beckwith was down quick to smother the ball.
A minutes later Bury went on the attack with Max Maughn winning the ball and setting up Luke Brown to shoot but he put the ball over the bar. On 25 minutes Bury had another attempt set up again by Max Maughn but this time Luke Brown's shot was blocked.
Witham had a lot of the ball early on but were caught out on 30 minutes went a slick attack from Bury saw Max Maughn breaking forward and his pass found Luke Brown who played a clever flick through to Cemal Ramadan and he broke through the defence to score.
On 36 minutes Witham went in search of the equaliser with Joe Alatise sending the ball forward for Joshua Osude but he shot wide of the target.
Bury then went straight back on the offensive with Luke Brown setting up Ryan Jolland to shoot but he put the ball over the bar. Bury had a good shout for a penalty on 39 minutes when Cemal Ramadan was pulled back in the box but he still got his shot away and the 'keeper made a good save but the spot kick was not given.
In added time Witham sent a long high ball into the Bury box but the ball was played too close to Charlie Beckwith who collected the ball.

On 50 minutes Joshua Osude went on a promising run into the box but delivered a poor cross which was salvaged and played back to Archie McFadden but he blasted the ball well wide of the mark.
On 59 minutes another quality attack from Bury saw Max Maughn go on a long run down the wing and put a cross into the box that the 'keeper could not collect and the ball almost fell to Cemal Ramadan who was waiting to strike but Anton Matthews made a good headed clearance.
On 61 minutes Witham went on the attack again with Joshua Osude working the ball to the edge of the box but the move broke down as Bury closed ranks. Archie McFadden tried his luck from distance a minute later shooting from distance but Charlie Beckwith made an impressive save.
On 67 minutes Bury went close to a second goal when Luke Brown’s shot from close range save saved well by the feet of the 'keeper. Luke Brown was denied again on 73 minutes when his beautiful strike was saved well by Harry Fairs.
Then on 78 minutes Witham were caught out again when Ryan Jolland put a corner into the box and Luke Brown sent a cushioned backwards header over to the far post and Cemal Ramadan was there to volley home his second goal.
Witham had a late chance on 89 minutes when Deese Kasinga Madia put a cross into the far post but Ethan Mayhew was there to get the ball clear for Bury. The win sees Bury remain in 3rd place in the league but they have closed the gap to 2nd place.
