With the top two inform teams going head-to-head a very compelling game played out at the OCS Ram Meadow Stadium as both teams went for the win

Attack was the order of the day and both sides delivered on the pitch with the game flowing from end to end. On 7 minutes Max Maughn put a cross into the box for Luke Brown but he headed wide.
On 9 minutes Bowers & Pitsea broke forward with Matt Price charging into the Bury box but the Bury defence closed him down and Ryan Horne cleared the ball from danger. On 13 minutes Max Maughn set up Luke Brown to shoot, David Hughes made the save and the loose ball was eventually cleared by the defence.
On 18 minutes Tom Thulborn powered into the box for Bury but two defenders closed him down quickly to deny the chance to shoot. Bowers & Pitsea found the back of the net on 29 minutes with Matt Price heading in from close range only to be ruled out for offside.
Bury went close on 34 minutes with Luke Brown playing a cross into the box for Tom Thulborn to head an inch wide of the base of the far post. Bowers & Pitsea broke the deadlock when a fortunate bounce fell to Matt Price and he set up Ben Williamson to score.
The Blues were unfazed and within minutes Max Maughn pulled Bury level with a follow up shot after Cemal Ramadan had hit the post with a glancing header.
In added time a poor decision from the officials denied Bury a goal when Tom Thulborn, who looked clearly onside put a cross into the box which hit defender Geofrey Okonkwo and then the back of the net but the referee went with the offside flag and the goal was ruled out.

Half Time: Bury Town 1 Bowers & Pitsea 1

The second half was much of the same with both sides going for the win. Bury quick went on the attack with Luke Brown playing a long ball for Cemal Ramadan who picked up the ball and ran at goal but two defenders were on him in a flash and won the ball back.
On 57 minutes another slice of good fortune fell to Bowers & Pitsea when they scored again. This time Benas Vaivada got into the Bury box and his powerful strike went through the gloves of debutant 'keeper James Philp hit him on the chest and the loose ball went straight on to the head of Matt Price who headed home from close range.
Bury were still up for the challenge and kept the pressure on the Bowers defence with their frequent attacks and on 64 minutes Cemal Ramadan was brought down in the box and got up, dusted himself off and scored the resulting penalty, sending the keeper the wrong way and equalising for Bury.
On 66 minutes Tom Thulborn put a decent cross into the box for Ethan Mayhew but he headed wide. A minutes later Bowers went close with Benas Vaivada crossing the ball into the box and Matt Price put his effort just wide of the post.
Bowers had a golden opportunity to score on 74 minutes when a long ball found Benas Vaivada onside, in acres of space and with just the 'keeper to beat his shot pulled a superb save from James Philp.
Bowers finished the game strong and had a late chance to snatch the win when in added time a free kick sent into the box by Benas Vaivada was headed wide by Geofrey Okonkwo. This was a cracking game of football for the big crowd to enjoy and a game which would have been unfair for either side to lose. Bury Town now make it eight games unbeaten and remain in eighth place in the league.
