Bury Town end the year with another good results to add to their recent tally to lift themselves up to 9th place in the league.

It was a patient start to the game from Bury Town but they soon got off the mark when on 16 minutes Ollie Canfer won the ball in midfield and sent Cemal Ramadan on his way and he squeezed his shot between the near post and the 'keeper to give Bury the lead.
On 19 minutes Grays went on the offensive and won a free kick which Billy Crook put into the box for Charlie Stimson to head goalward, the ball beat the keeper but was cleared off the line and for good measure the flag went up too.
On 23 minutes Max Maughn pushed forward for Bury and lifted the ball over the defence for Ollie Canfer and his ball into the box found Cemal Ramadan but his shot was deflected wide. On 32 minutes another good attack from Bury saw Cemal Ramadan again break into the box but a poor tackle sent him to ground in the box but Luke Brown was on hand to collect the ball and put Bury two goals to the good.
On 38 minutes Bury broke forward and Tom Thulborn tried a shot from distance and from out wide which was saved well by Daniel Sambridge. On 41 minutes another good attack from Bury saw Ethan Mathew and Luke Brown work the ball into space before Brown hit a great strike just wide of the top corner.
A Grays attack on 44 minutes saw Aron Gordon and Alejandro Machado get the ball down the wing and to the edge of the box but the Bury defence marshalled the play well and gave Grays no room for a shot.

Half Time: Bury Town 2 Grays Athletic 0

The second half the momentum was still with Bury and on 50 minutes a long ball forward found Cemal Ramadan in acres of space and with just the 'keeper to beat he slotted in his second goal.
Then the game was halted for fifteen minutes as one of the referees assistants picked up an injury and a replacement had to be found. The disruption broke the momentum for Bury and Grays started to see more of the ball.
On 68 minutes Aron Gordon went on a promising forward run for Grays and got deep into the Bury half before Tom Thulborn made the challenge to send the ball out for a corner. From the corner Kien Connolly saw his effort on goal deflected over the bar.
Connolly did not have to wait long to get on the score sheet as on 74 minutes he was in on goal and put his lob over the 'keeper and into the empty net. The goal lifted Grays who finished the game strong but Bury looked comfortable to sit deeper and protect their lead.
As the game went into fifteen minutes of added time due to the stoppage both sides had chances. On 95 minutes Luke Brown got into the box but his low strike was saved well by Daniel Sambridge.
On 106 minutes Grays almost pulled another goal back when Aron Gordon put his shot past Bury 'keeper Charlie Beckwith but Lewis O’Malley chased back to clear the ball off the goal line. Bury took the win at full time and have now collected a healthy thirteen points from their last five games to move up to 9th in the table.
