With the woodwork hit four times and two goal line clearances it was remarkable how this game finished without a goal.

Brentwood Town and Bury Town fought out a goalless draw at the Brentwood Arena despite plenty of chances on goal.
Six minutes had been played when a ball into the box from Brentwood was spilled by Charlie Beckwith and Alex Akrofi put his shot onto the bar, then the ball fell to Kingdom Dawson but he shot wide.
On 12 minutes Bury had a chance when a great through ball from Ed Upson found Cemal Ramadan who tried to put his shot low under the 'keeper but Melvin Minter made a good save. On 16 minutes Ryan Jolland got the ball close to the far post before the defence managed to poke the ball out of play for a corner.
Brentwood went on the attack on 20 minutes with Wyan Reid going on a run but he put his shot wide of the post. On 24 minutes another Brentwood attack saw Kingdom Dawson have his shot cleared off the line by Ethan Mayhew.
On 29 minutes Luke Brown hit a shot with power for Bury but the ball hit a defender on the way to goal and it was an easy collect for the 'keeper in the end. Bury were back on the attack on 30 minutes with Luke Brown setting up Cemal Ramadan to shoot but Melvin Minter made a superb save.
A good attack from Bury on 36 minutes saw Max Maughn make a great run to the edge of the box before lifting the ball to the far post for Cemal Ramadan but the ball was just too high for Ramadan to make use of. On 38 minutes a quick attack from Bury ended with Jonathan Nzengo clearing to ball of his goal line. Just before the break Max Maughn went on a run for Bury and brought the ball inside and into the box but his curling effort hit the bar with the final kick of the half.

A slow start to the half from Bury saw Brentwood quickly take control in the second half. On 46 minutes Tom Stephen put a good ball across the face of the Bury goal but no one was able to make use of it. On 54 minutes Brentwood won a free kick which Alex Akrofi sent into the box and the ball bounced awkwardly close to goal but went harmlessly out of play.
Brentwood were dictating the play and on 60 minutes after a good attack Alex Akrofi again hit the bar. Two minutes later Brentwood saw another shot hit the bar this time from Wyan Reid.
Bury counterattacked on 69 minutes with Camal Ramadan getting to the edge of the box before pressure from a defender saw him slip as he hit his shot and the keeper made the save.
On 71 minutes Cemal Ramadan got the ball into the box and unselfishly decided to make a square pass instead of shooting but the attack broke down. On 74 minutes Bury gave the ball away and Matt Cripps picked up the ball and went on a run up field to set up Kingdom Dawson but his shot was defected wide. From the resulting corner Matt Cripps headed just over the bar.
A late chance for Bury came on 90 minutes when Jose Santa De La Paz beat his marker and went on into the box and his shot hit the keeper but was heading into the goal but Melvin Minter recovered himself quickly to scamper back to collect the ball just in time.
In injury time Bury 'keeper Charlie Beckwith pulled off an incredible save from point blank range from Kingdom Dawson to ensure all Bury’s hard work throughout the game saw them take at least a point at the final whistle.
