Bury Town had most of the possession during the game but that counted for nothing as Felixstowe finished their chances when they arrived.

After four minutes Bury Town had an opportunity when a loose ball broke to Jose Santa De La Paz but his shot was blocked by a defender. Shortly afterwards Bury pressed forward with Ed Upson driving forward before he was fouled just outside the box and he took the free kick himself which was saved well by Callum Robinson.
On 19 minutes Felixstowe won the ball and Samuel Ford went straight towards goal but some excellent defending from Joe White saw him win the ball with a superb tackle, the ball then went to Charlie Warren but again Joe White was there to make another quality interception.
Bury's best chance of the game came on 26 minutes when Max Maughn went on a run forward and found Cemal Ramadan who hit the bar. A minute later Felixstowe were in front. Samuel Ford beat the defence and got into the Bury box and put his shot across the Bury 'keeper and into the back of the net.
A counterattack from Felixstowe on 37 minutes caught Bury out and Callum Harrison went one on one with the keeper, and he lifted the ball past Danny Cullum and it was 2-0 to the home side.
On 39 minutes Ethan Mayhew got into the box for Bury and got close to the near post but his shot from close range was saved by Callum Robinson. On 42 minutes Cemal Ramadan got into the box for Bury but blasted his shot high over the bar. Bury had two good chances in injury time, first from Ed Upson who had his shot saved and the follow up shot from Ramadan was blocked.

Half Time: Felixstowe & Walton Utd 2 Bury Town 0

After the break it was more of the same with Bury seeing lots of the ball and Felixstowe defending well and the home side always looking dangerous when they went on the attack.
On 59 minutes Felixstowe won a free kick which was played into the box and Tom Bullard headed goalward, but Danny Cullum made a good save. On 65 minutes Cemal Ramadan was back in the box but his shot was blocked.
On 68 minutes Felixstowe broke forward with Joshua Hitter going on a long run forward and a good pass found Samuel Ford, but Joe White was there again to make a great challenge for Bury to win the ball back.
Felixstowe went on the attack again on 73 minutes with Noel Aitkens playing a good ball through to Billy Holland who got to the edge of the box, made space for himself but shot high over the bar.
On 81 minutes Bury got forward with Lewis O’Malley playing a neat ball to Ollie Sims who got into the box and put a cross to the far post, but no one was there to take advantage and the 'keeper saw the ball out of play for the goal kick.
Bury were having lots of possession and Felixstowe looked happy to let Bury have the ball in their own half and when Bury would get forward the Felixstowe defence did their job well to win the ball back and hit Bury on the counter and on 89 minutes one of those counters paid off when Joshua Hitter went through on goal and with just the keeper to beat scored the third goal for the home side.
Felixstowe proved that you do not need to have the majority the possession to win a game, you just need to put away your chances when they come, a lesson for the Blues for the season ahead.
