Four first half goals in ten minutes made for an easier time for Billericay but Bury had their chances early on.

Bury started the game well and had a couple of chances in the opening half hour. On 13 minutes Cemal Ramadan had his shot from inside the box saved well by Dan Wilks. On 17 minutes Billericay went on the attack with Ben Wells playing a clever through ball into the box for Ade Azeez to chase but the ball went fractionally too long. Danny Cullum made a good save for Bury on 18 minutes when Richard Asamoah shot to the near post. Ethan Mayhew did well for Bury on 20 minutes making a double block from two shots from Bradley Stevenson. On 26 minutes Ed Upson cracked his powerful strike from distance off the underside of the bar. The game then turned against Bury on 35 minutes with Billericay scoring four goals in 10 minutes. First Bradley Stevenson took advantage of Bury losing the ball to go on to find space to tuck his shot away. Next Ben Wells made the most of a cross into the box to turn and strike from close range to double the lead for Billericay. Then Bradley Stevenson battled hard to win the ball in the Bury box to send the ball over to the far post for Ade Azeez to score. Stevenson himself made it 4-0 in injury time when Richard Asamoah sent a long ball up field and Bradley Stevenson did the rest as he shot through a crowded box to find the back of the net. A bright start to the half from Bury but Billericay’s clinical finishing saw them take a four-goal lead in with them at half time.
