Manager pleased to see his side back in the goals and points against Witham Town

Bury Town boss Ben Chenery was happy to see his side bounce back from their reverse at Maldon & Tiptree at the weekend as they defeated Witham Town 5-2 at the Denny Bros Stadium on Tuesday evening in the Bostik North Division.

The Blues got off to the best possible start when Cemal Ramadan scored after 2 minutes and further goals from Ryan Horne, Ollie Hughes and Kyran Clements (2) gave Bury the three points. Witham had hit back with a couple of goals but Bury always held a two goal advantage.

Ben said "I was pleased with our response after the defeat at Maldon. I had looked at Witham's recent form and they have had some impressive results recently, but we got off to a perfect start through Cemal and that really set the tone for the rest of the game"

"We scored goals at good times and were clinical from set pieces when it mattered, with Kyran scoring a couple more from corners after a similar one against Canvey a few weeks ago. I think Witham are better than their league position so to score 5 goals and win is very pleasing for me and the staff"

"The win puts us back to within 4 points of the play off's and we have another home game on Saturday and we must make that count. We've now won three out of four and I'm looking for that run to continue on Saturday"
