Development side hit Hertford Town for five at Hertingfordbury Park

Bury Town’s Development Side picked up their first win of the season as they hit Hertford Town for five at Hertingfordbury Park.
The Blues had picked up just one point from their opening three matches but a good performance in Hertfordshire got their season up and running.

There was just 10 minutes on the clock when the away side opened the scoring as Emmanuel Machaya scored as Bury states the game well.
Bury added a second goal to their tally in the 40th minute when Max Maughn, following on for his first senior goal for the First Team on Saturday scored with a low shot across Sinfield in the Hertford Town goal.
The last action of the first half came at the other end of the field when goalkeeper George Bugg came out and cleared a loose ball just outside his area upfield before the oncoming striker clattered into him, for which a free kick was amazingly awarded and Bugg was cautioned, however luckily the free kick in a dangerous area hit the wall and rebounded out to safety.
Bury were in no mood to sit on their two goal lead and just six minutes into the second half they extended their lead to three when Max Maughn picked up a loose ball on the edge of the area and made it look easy as he rolled the ball into the bottom corner of the net across the keeper.
There soon became four as Emmanuel Machaya hit a shot that cannoned back off the crossbar and Charlie Cook hit a good shot back into the net with the home defence slow to react.
With 71 minutes on the clock Bury wrapped up the game as Emmanuel Machaya picked up his second goal of the game with another well worked move. There was a slight disappointment in the 89th minute when Hertford scores through Dane Batt with a well hit shot last Bugg which denied Bury the clean sheet that their work rate had deserved but it didn’t take the gloss off a fine win away from home, their first of the season.
