Bradley Barber and John Kennedy's Bury Town Development side picked up their 2nd away win of the season and moved into joint 3rd position in the Bluefin Development League North Division. Bury included William Allison in the starting line having only just turned 17 after impressing in the Under 18's side.
Bury Town got off to a great start at Hertingfordbury Park and took an 11th minute lead through Emmanuel Machaya who is now on 15 goals for the season. Bury really should have increased their lead during a fairly dominant first half. Machaya, Harry Brown and Joe Carden all had chances to increase the lead but Hertford stopper Charlie Mann was in good form.
Bury were made to pay for those missed chances in the 56th minute when, after a corner, Hertford defender Johnny Butler hit a shot that came back off the foot of the far post and into the net.
12 minutes later, Bury were back in front as Machaya broke free one on one with Mann in the Hertford goal, and this time he made no mistake as he put the ball past Mann into the corner of the net.
Harry Brown then had the ball in the net from close range but this was ruled out for offside, but Brown made the game safe in the 90th minute when he scored from close range at the far post to give Bury a 3-1 lead which they saw out comfortably to collect three points.
