Bury Town had the first shot of the game on 2 minutes, as Machaya's long range effort was blocked. Brown and Kennedy then linked up well, passing the ball around nicely in midfield on the right, but the former's low shot went just wide off the far post. Greenwich then went for goal on the left, but fired over the near post on 20 minutes.
Greenwich then went close on 22 minutes, as their 20-yard strike smacked the bar with Fenn heading the rebound behind to safety.
