Bury Town and Coggeshall Town go head to head tonight in the Velocity Trophy group stages, as the visitors will look to end their round of fixtures with a win, while the Blues will also be looking for three points to give them a chance of progressing to the next phase of the competition.
Bury have so far won 1 and drawn 1 of their 2 group stage games, while the visitors sit on 7 points thanks to 2 wins and 1 draw from their 4 games, their only defeat coming against the so far invincible Maldon & Tiptree. Only 1 team will progress from the group and with Maldon sitting on 2 wins from 2 games, both sides tonight will need to win to be in with a chance of going through.
In the league, the Blues went top of the table on Saturday with a 2-1 win over Felixstowe and Coggeshall currently sit in the play off places after a 2-1 win at Aveley on Saturday.
Both sides may use the Velocity Trophy to rotate their squads with busy league schedules coming up, but it will no doubt be a competitive game. Last season Coggeshall took the honours with wins in both league games, but they were tight affairs with Coggeshall winning 2-3 at the Denny Bros Stadium and 2-1 at their West Street ground.
