AFC Sudbury (H)

This was a scrappy game for the most part with both sides defending well but struggling to get a foot hold in the game going forward, played out in front of another big crowd of over 1,000 at the Atalian Servest Stadium.
On 14 minutes Joe White got in to the box for Bury and Cemal Ramadan found him with a good cross, but his soft header was easy for the 'keeper.
On 18 minutes Cemal Ramadan went deep in to the Sudbury box and put a cross in for Ollie Hughes but he put his header wide from a tight angle.
Sudbury got forward on 21 minutes with George Cocklin playing a ball in to the box for Joshua Stokes, but Ollie Fenn had it covered and won the ball back for the home side.
Sudbury won a free kick on 25 minutes which was played deep to the far post but although Joe Grimwood had got in around the back the ball went just too long for him to make any kind of contact.
A long ball forward for Sudbury on 33 minutes found Joshua Stokes who worked the ball in to the box, but he shot wide of the target. On 35 minutes Joe White needed to be at his very best when Sakariya Hassan set up Joshua Stokes in the box and at close range but a superb tackle from white cleared the ball before Joshua Stokes could get his shot away.
On 43 minutes Sudbury put another long ball into the box with again found Joshua Stokes but another superb tackle from Joe White kept the scores level at half time.

Half Time: Bury Town 0 AFC Sudbury 0

The game continued in the same vein same second half with real chances few and far between.
On 49 minutes a long ball forward from George Keys for Sudbury went to George Cocklin but his volley went wide of the post.
A superb save from Bury 'keeper Sam Blair on 51 minutes denied Joshua Stokes an almost certain goal.
On 60 minutes Sudbury won a corner which was played in by Reece Harris, but George Keys could only put his header wide.
Max Maughn got forward for Bury on 69 minutes but only as far as the penalty area before George Keys won the ball back. On 73 minutes Bury had a double effort first from Ollie Hughes the Ross Crane both blocked by Sudbury who were defending in numbers.
Another quality save from Sam Blair on 78 minutes denied Correy Davidson the opening goal for Sudbury, but the visitors did not have to wait long as on 79 minutes Sudbury made a chance count.
From a corner whipped in to the box the ball came back off the legs of captain Ollie Fenn to give the visitors the lead, a lead which Sudbury would hold until the final whistle.
With nothing really to play for in this game it really showed on the pitch and the game never lived up to the intensity of previous local derby games with Sudbury and as it proved one goal either way was enough to win what was a disappointing game for the majority of the huge 1,013 strong crowd.
