Narrow win over Bury Town sees Felixstowe move in to the playoff places

Felixstowe & Walton United needed to win this game but Bury were in no mood to make it easy for the home side. Bury fought hard all game and defended well as Felixstowe went in search of a win. On 10 minutes Noel Aitkens worked the ball forward for Felixstowe and set up Henry Barley in the box but his double effort at goal was met by a double save from Sam Blair which kept the score level for Bury. On 15 minutes Ollie Hughes got forward for Bury and got to the edge of the box but his ball in to the box was cleared by Noel Aitkens. On 20 minutes Felixstowe had another chance with Andre Hasanally shooting from inside the box but again Sam Blair made a good save. Ryan Jolland got in to the box for Bury on 31 minutes and put his low shot across goal aiming for the far post and with Cemal Ramadan running in the ball went just too long for Ramadan and went the wrong side of the post. On 38 minutes a high ball over the defence by Ryan Stafford almost fell to Ollie Hughes who was running in on goal, but the ball was went just too long for Bury to make it count. Just before half time Felixstowe made the break through when Oliver Canfer went deep in to the Bury box and put a good ball across the box and Henry Barley was on hand to tap in from close range.

Bury kept battling hard through the second half as they had during the first half. On 50 minutes Bury won a corner which was played in to the box by Ross Crane and Ollie Hughes got his head to the ball, but it lacked power and was an easy save for Callum Robinson. On 52 minutes Zak Brown went on a charge forward for Felixstowe but some good cover play from Ryan Jolland helped to shepherd the ball back to Sam Blair. Cemal Ramadan got in to the box for Bury on 53 minutes and put a great ball over to the far post and Joe Whight had to be there to head the ball clear. On 57 minutes Henry Barley worked the ball into a shooting position for Felixstowe but pulled his shot just wide of the post. The home side were on the attack again on 61 minutes and Oliver Canfer blasted a shot at goal which saw the save of the game from Sam Blair. On 70 minutes another Bury corner put in to the box from Ross Crane was met by the head of Ollie Hughes, but the ball looped off his head and over the bar. as the game entered injury time both sides had a chance to score. First Ollie Hughes got into the box for Bury but put his pass behind Cemal Ramadan who was in on goal on 91 minutes. Then Andre Hasanally found himself clean through on goal for Felixstowe on 94 minutes, with just the keeper to beat but Sam Blair stood tall and made the block. A good defensive display from Bury but Felixstowe went on to take a narrow win at the final whistle and move up in to the playoff places.
