Background: Bury Town, fresh from the back of Saturday's 4-1 home victory over Felixstowe & Walton United, travel to Lower Road, the home of Hullbridge Sports for the first time ever this evening for an Isthmian League match. This is Sports 1st season at Step 4 after winning the Essex Senior League and they have made a reasonable start to the campaign and currently sit in 12th place with 22 points. Their game on Saturday was postponed due a waterlogged pitch, but their previous results were wins over Canvey Island and Soham Town Rangers.
The two sides have met just once in the histories of both clubs, back in 2003 when Bury Town won an FA Cup tie 6-0 at Ram Meadow which is detailed below.
The Blues got their season back on track on Saturday with a comprehensive 4-1 win over Felixstowe and have opened up a 4 point gap ahead of the play off chasing pack. Manager Ben Chenery will be looking for his side to continue their effectiveness in front of goal that they showed on Saturday, as they took the lead after 7 minutes and never looked back.
Injury News: Ryan Horne, Ollie Fenn, Taylor Hastings all sit out injured. Joe Carden steps up his training after missing the last year, and could feature next month.
