Great Wakering Rovers (A)

Bury Town take the win to remain top of the league

Bury Town added another three points to this seasons tally with a hard-fought performance. On 4 minutes Ryan Jolland got forward to the edge of the box for Bury but could only put his shot wide of the post. Colin Oppong played a great ball across the face of goal on 6 minutes but a solid clearance from Adalberto Pinto ended the move. Next to get forward for Bury was Ryan Stafford who broke into the box but a good block from Ollie Woodhouse denied Bury the chance of the opening goal. Oppong was on hand again on 22 minutes after Cemal Ramadan set him up in the box but a soft shot was easy for Gr Wakering keeper Bobby Mason. Ryan Stafford put a good cross in to the box for Ross Crane on 31 minutes, but Mason made another good save. A minutes later Jolland picked up the ball in midfield and hit a shot from distance but the ball sailed high and wide. Just before the break Crane put a cross into the box, which was headed goalward by Oppong, but Mason made the save from Oppong’s header.
