Bury Town take another three points to remain top of the league

Bury Town put in a good performance to take another league win against Romford at the Denny Bros Stadium. In the first half Bury were rampant, attacking at will. On 6 minutes Ollie Hughes found Jake Chambers Shaw in the box but his shot spun wide. Ryan Jolland went past two defenders and found space to hit a shot from just outside the box, but Jack Riddell made a good save.
Bury kept pressing forward and their persistence payed off on 18 minutes when Joe White found a gap between 'keeper and the post to sneak the ball home to give Bury the lead.
Five minutes later Jake Chambers Shaw found some space in the box to fire Bury two goals up. On 33 minutes Ryan Jolland got forward to the edge of the box but shot wide of the post.
On 36 minutes Romford won a free kick in a dangerous position and Danny Nesbitt shot just wide of the far post. Bury went close to a third goal twice on 41 minutes with Cemal Ramadan hitting the post and the rebound fell to Chambers Shaw who hit the bar.

Second half Romford came out fighting. On 49 minutes Rashaad Ogun hit a strike from distance that went wide. A great ball over the defence from Romford on 51 minutes had Inesh Sumithran in on goal but Bury 'keeper Daniel Barden read the danger well and was out quick to make the block.
Romford pulled a goal back on 57 minutes with Inesh Sumithran getting on the end of a great cross into the box and he headed home from close range but just a few minutes later a cross into the box for Bury was headed just wide by Will Gardner as Bury looked to restore their two goal advantage.
Ryan Jolland hit a curling effort on 63 minutes but a good save from Riddell sent the ball out for a corner. Bury started to sit deep and Romford kept pressing forward but on 80 minutes Max Maughn, who had come off the bench was set up after a weaving run from Ryan Jolland and Maughn fired a low driven shot past the outstretched hand of the keeper and inside the near post.
The third goal killed the game off for Romford and Bury took another vital league win and another three points to remain top of the league.
