Frustrating afternoon as the points are shared
Both sides had a very frustrating afternoon in front of goal with far too many missed chances. Bury took the lead from the spot on 4 minutes from the penalty spot after Colin Oppong was brought down in the box. Cemal Ramadan stepped up to fired Bury in front. The lead did not last long and Brentwood were soon level. Andrew Freeman picking up the ball out wide and taking his chance with a superb shot past Bury keeper Daniel Barden and inside the far post. Ramadan went close for Bury on 22 minutes with Ross Crane getting a cross into the box and Ramadan put his header an inch wide of the far post. On 29 minutes Ryan Jolland broke into the box from out wide and hit shot from a tight angle was saved by Brentwood keeper Tim Brown. Colin Oppong went one on one with Brown on 39 minutes but hit his shot straight at Brown who made the save. Bury had another chance on 43 minutes with a deep cross into the box which was headed wide by Ollie Hughes.

The defences were on top for most of the game and with very little space to work with the game turned very scrappy. On 54 minutes Colin Oppong got into the box and was one on one with the keeper but his low shot was saved by Brown and the follow up almost fell to Ollie Hughes on the follow up but for a good clearance. Oppong had another chance on 68 minutes when was into the box again but chipped his shot wide of the far post. Brentwood went close on 70 minutes with Tom Andrews playing an excellent through ball to Jason William who was in on the Bury keeper but a exceptional save from Barden with his feet kept the score level. Ide Osimeh saw red for Brentwood on 90 minutes after picking up a second yellow. Brentwood thought they had grabbed the winner on 97 minutes with the last action of the game when they won a corner which was put in off the far post but was ruled out for offside. The game inevitably ended all square at the final whistle.
