Defences on top and the points are shared

A minute late at the other end Ollie Hughes shot just past the post from inside the box. On 10 minutes Barden was nearly caught out when a high cross in to the box from Liam Whipps left Bugg in on goal, Barden rushed out to intercept but a clever pass from Bugg to Ashley Pibworth found him with an open goal to aim at but he put his shot over the bar. on 19 minutes Jake Chambers Shaw showed great skill for Bury shifting direction and getting into the box only to have his shot blocked. Ross Crane played a superb cross in to the box for Bury on 26 minutes, Cemal Ramadan made a brilliant take down to make a shot for himself but again the shot was blocked. Witham took the lead on 30 minutes when another quick break found the Bury keeper stranded out of goal and Marcus Bowers put the ball in the empty net. Second half was a cagey affair with both defences on top. On 57 minutes George Bugg had a chance for Witham but put his shot wide of the post. Witham should have gone ahead on 61 minutes when Liam Whipps put a cross into the box which was straight to the feet of Bugg close to the near post, but he put his possible tap in the wrong side of the post. Ollie Hughes had another shot blocked on 63 minutes as he tried to get through a crowed box. Jared Robson came of the bench and had a good chance on 70 minutes for Bury but his clever side foot volley when just over the bar. At the other end on 72 minutes Jamie Guy when close for Witham putting a shot an inch wide of the foot of the far post. Another good chance for Bury on 82 minutes saw Chambers Shaw have yet another shot deflected straight to the Witham keeper. And so it went on, both side had chances but time after time the shots were blocked due to the weight of number in the box. So the points were shared and a draw was the inevitable result.
