Background: Bury Town travel to Heybridge Swifts on the back of a good result last time out at league leaders Basildon United. The Blues are now unbeaten in three league games, but some disappointing cup results are scattered in between.
Heybridge Swifts go into the game on the back of a 4-3 win at Mildenhall Town last time out, that match was the first in the dugout for new manager Julian Dicks who took over from Jody Brown. Julian Dicks had a distinguished top flight playing career with West Ham United and Liverpool, and also played with Ben Chenery at Canvey Island.
The Swifts had a season to remember last term, with good runs in the FA Cup and FA Trophy and reaching the play off's despite a heavy schedule towards the end of the season, but they fell at the semi final stage to Haringey Borough who ultimately won their place in the Bostik Premier Division.
The two sides met three times last season, and the honours ended even with a win apiece and a draw. Heybridge knocked us out of the Velocity League Cup after a penalty shoot-out. The sides then drew at Scraley Road 1-1 in the first league meeting, but the Blues gained revenge for that earlier defeat with a 2-1 win at home in the League, both goals coming from Cemal Ramadan.
Injury News: Bury Town go into the game with a clean bill of health, and no suspensions.
