Background:Bury Town are back in action at the Denny Bros Stadium on Saturday afternoon for the first time in over a month as Bowers & Pitsea make the trip to Suffolk as champions-elect of the Bostik North Division, sitting pretty at the top of the table with a 9 point advantage over their nearest challengers. Bowers are also on a 10 match winning run which has cemented their place at the top of the table. The key behind their success is former AFC Hornchurch striker David Knight who has 32 goals to his name this season and he has been backed up by Lewis Manor who has weighed in with another 12 strikes. Bowers have only conceded three goals in their last six matches, while scoring 18 times, last weeks 6-0 demolition of Brentwood Town showed how dangerous they are on their new 3G surface.
When we met earlier this season Bradley Warner and David Knight gave Bowers a 2-0 lead but Jake Kerins gave Bury hope with a stunning strike from distance net on 62 minutes. Bury were back in the game and on 66 minutes an exceptional free kick from Chamber Shaw fooled everyone as it landed in the far corner of the net to put Bury level as we collected a point.
Bowers previous two visits to the Denny Bros Stadium have seen a defeat and a draw, as won 3-0 in the 2016-17 season, while last season both sides fought out a 0-0 draw.
Injury News: Striker Cemal Ramadan is out of action and requires an operation, Joe Carden will also miss the rest of the season due to the injury he picked up at Aveley which could keep him out of action for 7 months. Ryan Jolland returns from a two match suspension.
