Costly mistakes from Bury Town as Coggeshall take the win

Bury Toen were slow to get started in the first half as the early chances fell to Coggeshall Town. On 7 minutes a long ball to the far post found Nnamdi Nwachuku close to goal but poor control saw the ball go out of play. Curtis Haynes Brown put a good cross in to the box for Ross Wall on 10 minutes but the went just to high for the header. Bury won a free kick on 19 minutes in a dangerous area and Jake Chambers Shaw put the ball into the box for Ollie Fenn but again the ball went too high for a decent header. On 20 minutes Joe White put an inviting ball down the channel and in to the box but no Bury player was close enough to take advantage. Coggeshall took the lead on 23 minutes with a well hit free kick from outside the box that went over the wall and Bury keeper Luis Tibbles and under the bar. A minutes later Joe White put another good cross in to the box and a defensive header sent the ball high in to the air and Coggeshall keeper Daniel Sambridge did well to palm the ball over the bar. A corner for Bury on 27 minutes saw Chambers Shaw put the ball on to the head of Fenn who could only head wide of the far post. On 37 minutes Nwachuku got a shot away inside the Bury box which was saved well by Tibbles. A mistake from Bury just before the break lead to Coggeshall grabbing their second goal. Nwachuku taking advantage and scoring low past Tibbles.

Bury found their game in the second half and looked more dangerous with every attack. On 52 minutes Ollie Hughes got down the wing and put a good cross in to the box which was met by a solid defensive header. On 54 minutes Tyler Brampton broke in to the Bury box but a well-timed tackle sent the ball out for a corner. Nnamdi Nwachuku showed great skill on 56 minutes breaking in to the Bury box and testing Tibbles who made a good save. On 62 minutes Luca Vega and Josh Revell linked up well for Bury and almost set up Ollie Hughes in the box but a well-timed clearance ended the move. Tanner Call showed some impressive skill on 64 minutes winning the ball out wide and turning inside and in to the box but again the defence cleared the ball up field. Bury pulled a goal back on 66 minutes with a neat attack that sent Call in to the box with just the keeper to beat and he put his shot low and under Sambridge as the ball hit the back of the net. On 67 minutes Hughes went on a run down the wing and on in to the box as he beat two defenders and the keeper to pull the ball back just outside the six-yard box but the defence managed to clear the ball out of the box. Coggeshall had a chance on 74 minutes with Nwachuku hitting his shot from inside the area off of the bar. Bury put in a good second half but it was Coggeshall who held on to take the points at the final whistle.
