Blues battle for a share of the points

Bury Town had to work hard to take a point from this game and did just that. Bury started on the attack and on 6 minutes a great cross in to the box was cleared off the line by Sam Mvemba. Bury took the lead a minute later with Ollie Hughes breaking down the wing and in to the box and a swift pass to Jake Chambers Shaw saw a first-time strike to direct the ball past Aveley keeper Mitchell Ware and in to the back of the net. On 11 minutes Hughes showed impressive skills to beat two defenders and set up Emmanuel Machaya but a defensive foot in put the ball out of reach. Joe Carden put a good cross in to the box for Bury on 13 minutes, but it was just to long for Machaya at the far post. A loose ball in a crowded Bury box on 22 minutes had to be cleared from danger by Ryan Stafford. On 27 minutes a quick attack from Bury saw Cemal Ramadan bring the ball inside to the edge of the box and hitting a pile driver screaming in to the top corner and an exceptional diving save from ware to put the ball out over the bar. Luis Tibbles pulled of a great save for Bury on 27 minutes from a well hit strike by Andrew Freeman. Aveley pulled level on 29 minutes with Amir Berkane keeping a cool head in the box and firing past Tibbles. Aveley finished the half strong and on 40 minutes took the lead. Tom Richardson winning the ball in midfield and powering in to the box to slot his shot low in to the back of the net.

Half Time: Aveley 2 Bury Town 1

Bury came out second half and went straight on the attack. A free kick from Jake chambers Shaw on 48 minutes was whipped in to the box and Ollie Hughes out foxed everyone as he twisted and turned and hit a thumping header from close range to pull the game back level. Hughes was in the thick of the action again on 50 minutes this time powering in to the box and pulling a pass back to Machaya running in on goal, but a solid defensive clearance cleared the ball upfield. On 58 minutes Andrew Freeman again broke in to the Bury box but some dogged defending from Bury won the ball in the box. Freeman had another opportunity on 67 minutes, winning the ball and pushing on in to the box put poor control saw the ball break loose and was cleared by Bury. On 80 minutes Bury had a great chance when Joe Carden skilfully worked the ball inside and found Machaya with a great chip to the far post and Machaya hot a sweet shot low inside the near post and Mitchell Ware pulled off another superb save to send the ball out for a corner. On 92 minutes Bury had a late chance to take the win with Machaya breaking in to the box but another solid tackle ended the chance of a late winner for the Bury. A well-earned point for Bury Town against a well organised Aveley side.
