Bury Town take back to back wins to go sixth

Bury Town took another three points as they continue to fight for a playoff place in the Bostik North Division. The Blues put in one of their best performances of the season and wasted no time in going on the attack. On 2 minutes Ryan Jolland put an inviting ball across the face of goal but no one was close enough to make it count. Gabriel Kellum went on a run for Romford on 10 minutes and went past three players and in to the box but had his shot blocked. On 15 minutes a clear handball in the box gave Bury the chance to take the lead from the spot and Cemal Ramadan blasted the ball past Harry Aldridge from the spot. On 20 minutes Ayo Olukoga tried to out fox Bury keeper Luis Tibbles with a curling effort to the top corner, but Tibbles had it covered and made the save. Olukoga had the ball in the Bury net on 24 minutes only to be ruled offside. On 29 minutes Olukoga had another great chance for Romford, shooting from close range but Tibbles pulled off a brilliant save with his legs. Jake Chambers Shaw showed some good skills on 31 minutes working the ball through the defence and finding space to shoot but his shot was deflected out of play. A good effort on goal from Oguz Yasar on 40 minutes for Romford saw his powerful strike go just wide of the angle. Ryan Jolland broke forward for Bury just before the break, but his low driven strike was straight at Aldridge who made an easy save.

Bury took control in the second half and if was all out attack by the end of the half. In the 50th minutes Jake Chambers Shaw hit a pacy free kick in to the box for Cemal Ramadan who put his first time strike just wide. Bury were starting to dominate with their quick passing and movement and on 51 minutes went two goals to the good with Ryan Jolland skillfully taking on the keeper and slotting his shot low in to the back of the net. Ollie Hughes was at his usual very best on 58 minutes, powering down the wing and taking on the defender and in to the box and almost found the pass in to the six-yard box but a swift block cleared the danger. Some good link up play from Ryan Jolland and Jake Cambers Shaw on 61 minutes almost payed off for Bury as Chambers Shaw got in to the box but his last touch let him down and the chance was over. In one of the best moves of the game Ollie Hughes on Jake Chambers Shaw moved the ball upfield in a rapid give and go all the way in to the box and the moves was ended by a stunning save from Harry Aldridge on 71 minutes. Ollie Hughes put the perfect cross in to the box a minute later and Cemal Ramadan was a hairs width away from a headed chance close to the goal line. Ramadan would not be denied his second goal and on 82 minutes he did just that with a break forward from Bury finding Ramadan one on one with the keeper and it was job done as the ball hit the back of the net. The goal of the game was an absolute stunner from Ryan Horne. With Bury attacking at every opportunity a corner deep into the box way cleared out of the box and fell to Horne. One touch to control the ball and the next was a pile driver which flew past everyone and went screaming in to the roof of the net on 89 minutes. Bury took another vital three point to move up to sixth in the league.
