Dominant Blues take the win in local Derby

Bury Town started brightly and were straight on the attack in this Bostik North local derby against Felixstowe & Walton United. On 3 minutes Ollie Hughes worked the ball from out wide in to the six-yard box and visiting 'keeper Jack Spurling was out quick to make the block. A class goal from Ryley Scott opened the scoring for Bury. Scott picked up the ball out wide and went on in to the box and hit a beautiful strike past the 'keeper and in to the top far corner of the net on 24 minutes. Another good attack from the Blues on 27 minutes left a two on one situation for Bury and Jake Chambers Shaw made no mistake with a well taken effort past the keeper and in to the bottom corner. On 32 minutes Felixstowe had a great chance to pull a goal back, Miles Powell breaking in to the box but his soft shot was easy for Bury 'keeper Luis Tibbles. A terrible sliding tackle from Ethan Clarke on 37 minutes saw a straight red card and the visitors had to play the remainder of the game with just ten men as he caught Ryan Stafford just below the knee with a poor challenge. Cemal Ramadan had a late chance in the half for Bury but his close-range shot was deflected out of play.

On 54 minutes Ryan Stafford put a great cross in to the far post for Ramadan who hit the ball first time but went just wide of the post. Another chance for Bury came on 57 minutes with Ramadan getting to the by-line and putting a low pass across the face of goal but no one was close enough for the tap in. Jake Chambers Shaw broke forward on 68 minutes and hit a sweet strike heading for the top corner but for the hand of Spurling who made a brilliant one handed save. On 73 minutes a corner for Bury found the head of Kyran Clements who headed inches wide of the post. Ramadan showed great skill on 83 minutes, turning two defenders inside out on the edge of the box and finding the perfect pass For Emmanuel Machaya who missed a tap in by millimeters but in the end Bury took a deserved win and another vital three points.
