Bury Town leave it late to snatch a point with an injury time goal
Bury Town left it very late to take a point from this game against Canvey Island at the Denny Bros Stadium. Canvey took the lead with just 6 minutes on the clock. Josh Hutchinson picked up the ball and hit a powerful low strike from distance which beat everyone including the Bury keeper Luis Tibbles. On 8 minutes Ollie Hughes put a good cross in to Cemal Ramadan at the far post and Ramadan tried a cheeky flick close to goal but Sam Collins got the block in. On 14 minutes Marlon Agyakwa broke in to the box for Canvey but a superb tackle from Kyran Clements cleared the ball out of play. On 20 minutes Bury almost pulled level with Cemal Ramadan beating the 'keeper Palmer who and James White did well to clear the ball off the line. Ramadan had the ball in the net on 23 minutes only to be ruled offside. On 39 minutes Martin Tuohy had a chance for Canvey after a cross in to the box found him in space but he could only head the ball high up in to the air and the chance was gone.

After the break Bury had a good shout for a goal when the ball clearly went over the goal line before keeper Harry Palmer managed to clear the danger. The referee and linesman both missed it and waved play on. Bury had more of the possession second half and on 53 minutes another chance saw Ramadan pick up the ball in the box with his back to goal, but his turn and strike went just wide of the post. On 58 minutes Ramadan gain was in on goal but a great block from James White ended the move. Bury kept probing forward and on 77 minutes they were awarded a penalty after Tommy Robinson was fouled following a good save by Palmer, but Ramadan hit the spot kick high over the bar. The game looked to be heading for defeat for Bury but with literally the last chance of the game Jake Chambers Shaw put in a brilliant corner for Kyran Clements to snatch a point with a towering header on 94 minutes.
