Bury Town record back to back wins to move up the table
Bury Town recorded back to back wins to move up to sixth in the Bostik North Division. Bury started brightly and were soon on the attack. An early corner for Bury saw Ryan Jolland cross to the back post for Cemal Ramadan to fire hit shot just off target and in to side netting. On 5 minutes Ollie Hughes was in one on one with Soham 'keeper Josh Pope and Pope was first to the loose ball. Jolland hit the top side of the crossbar from a free kick on 9 minutes. Soham had a good chance on 11 minutes with Ryan Auger heading just over from a free kick. Bury took the lead on 24 minutes with Ollie Fenn scoring, flicking a header from a free kick which was helped on by defender Jack Mochalski as he tried to clear it. Bury went two goals up on 33 minutes when a half clearance fell nicely for Ryan Horne to smash home from distance through a crowd of players into the top corner of the net. On 37 minutes Ryan Stafford put in a great cross to the far post looking for Ollie Hughes but Pope was out quick to punch the ball away. Soham had a free kick in a dangerous position on 43 minutes but Lee Chaffey looped his header over the bar. Just before the break Bury should have been three goals to the good as Ollie Hughes beat his man and the Pope but the referee pulled the game back for a free kick to Soham after Lewis Endacott tripped over his own feet and the man in black deemed this a foul by Hughes.

Bury continued to impress second half. On 50 minutes Ryan Jolland showed good skill to work the ball in to the box but ran in to two defenders who managed to clear the ball. Cemal Ramadan had another chance for Bury on 57 minutes but could only find the side netting with his shot at the far post. On 64 minutes Jon Kaye chipped a ball over the Bury defence as he tried to find a way past Bury keeper Luis Tibbles, but he made the save. On 67 minutes a quick break upfield from Bury saw Ollie Hughes put a cross to the far post for Ramadan but he was just offside as his shot again hit the side netting. Bury got their third goal courtesy of Ryan Jolland on 68 minutes. Jolland picked up the ball in midfield and ran at the back four, made some space for himself and hit a well-placed shot that sailed past Josh Pope and in to the bottom corner of the net. By this stage, Bury were in control. On 71 minutes Jake Chambers Shaw had a go at goal but pulled his shot just wide of the near post. Ramadan had another chance to get on the score sheet for Bury on 78 minutes with Ollie Hughes crossing from the wing in to the far post, but Ramadan headed wide. A late chance on 89 minutes for Bury came when substitute Emmanuel Machaya worked the ball past two defenders and on in to the six-yard box and put a pass across the face of goal for Ramadan who was running in on goal but the ball ran past his outstretched foot and was cleared. Bury recorded back to back wins to move them up to sixth place in the league as they continue to chase a playoff place.
