Bury Town suffer due to a poor performance from the match officials
Bury Town were the better side for much of this game but The Blues had to deal with a lot of poor refereeing decisions and the brute force of a thuggish Coggeshall Town performance. On 4 minutes Coggeshall 'keeper James Bransgrove, who in all honesty should have been sent off twice in this game for dangerous challenges, gave away a penalty but received no card of any kind for his first bad challenge and Cemal Ramadan scored from the spot for Bury. A lack of concentration from Bury saw Curtis Haynes-Brown equalise on 12 minutes and Conner Hubble give Coggeshall the lead on 20 minutes. On 37 minutes Jake Kerins put a great cross in for Tommy Hughes, who fired over the bar for Bury. On 37 minutes another great deep cross in to the box by Ryley Scott almost found Hughes rushing in and the ball went just the wrong side of the post. Bury were creating plenty of chances and Hughes made one count as headed home to equalise for Bury on 43 minutes.

Bury continued to try and play their passing football second half but with Coggeshall in the mindset of stopping Bury whatever the cost in regard to personal injury to players the Blues lost Ian Miller who had to be stretchered off the pitch due to a very dangerous challenge from Daniel Cunningham again the referee deemed this a fair challenge and offer Miller no protection. Two further elbows for Bury for their troubles and two more stone wall penalty shouts were all judged as fair by the match official. Bury kept playing their game and were by far the best football team out there second half but Coggeshall stole a winner on 54 minutes with Ross Wall doing well to squeeze in a shot from an almost impossible angle out wide. Not a game for the squeamish this one but amazingly Coggeshall finished the game with 11 men on the pitch and Bury were left battered and bruised at the final whistle but should be proud of their performance as they kept their discipline all afternoon under extreme circumstances.
