Cemal Ramadan on target again as Bury Town take the win

Bury Town got their league campaign off to a winning start with a 1-0 victory over Hashtag United at the Atalian Servest Stadium.
A very hot afternoon slowed the pace of the game, but it was still an entertaining game played out none the less. Bury made their intentions felt in the first minute with Cruis Nyadzayo firing a shot from outside the box which had Anthony Page palming the ball over the bar.
An early chance for Hashtag on 5 minutes saw Perry Kiangebeni play the ball into the box looking for Pedro Carvalho but the ball went just too long for the header.
On 10 minutes Bury were back on the attack when Will Gardner played a long ball forward which was flicked on by Cruis Nyadzayo to Cemal Ramadan. With his back to goal Ramadan turned the defender and made space hit a shot just wide of the near post.
Hashtag went close on 20 minutes when they won a free kick in a dangerous position just outside the box but Kojo Apenteng’s effort on goal went just over the bar.
With the heat playing its part the half lacked any further good chances on goal, both sides preferring the long ball options for the remainder of the half. A flash point in the game came on 41 minutes when a late challenge from Hashtag’s Perry Kiangebeni on Lee Watkins just outside the box as Watkins was about to strike on goal saw Kiangebeni collect a straight red card and both 'keepers picked up a yellow card a piece in the melee that ensued.
From the resulting free kick Cemal Ramadan could only blest his strike against the wall and the ball was cleared up field by the Hashtag defence. In injury time Bury had a golden opportunity to put themselves in front when a long ball forward found Cruis Nyadzayo who beat his marker and was in on goal, but he pulled his low strike wide of the far post.

Bury started to control the game midway through the second half against ten-man Hashtag but it was Hashtag who started the half on the attack. On 50 minutes a Hashtag free kick was sent long in to the box looking for Alex Teniola but more superb defending from Bury Town’s Joe White and Charlie Johnson who were both Man Of The Match contenders soon had the ball back under control.
On 57 minutes another long ball in to the box for Hashtag was headed on by Alex Teniola on to the head of Max Cornhill but again the two Bury center backs closed him out and his soft header was cleared up by Bury.
Bury were starting to make the extra man count as the half when on and more chances were found. On 63 minutes Lewis O’Malley put a great ball into the box aiming for Cemal Ramadan but the keeper was out quick to intercept the ball.
Ryan Horne played a long cross field ball for Bury on 66 minutes which found the head of Joe White just inside the box but White’s looping header could not find its way over the Hashtag keeper.
Bury made the breakthrough on 68 minutes when Carlos Edwards who came off the bench minutes before and with his second touch put a beautiful through ball through a crowded midfield and on to the chest of Cemal Ramadan who showed perfect poise as he went on to score with a clinical finish.
Cemal Ramadan had the ball in the net again on 77 minutes, but a whistle in the build-up disallowed the goal. Hashtag kept fighting until the end with a couple of half chances, but it was Bury Town who took all the points at the final whistle.
The perfect league start for the Blues and another good team performance especially at the back as Lewis O’Malley, Will Gardner, Charlie Johnson and Man Of The Match Joe White all played a huge part in the win.
