Background: Bury Town are on the road on Saturday in the Extra Preliminary Round of the Buildbase FA Trophy as they meet unfamiliar opposition in the form of Lincoln United of the Northern Premier League. The Blues will head to Lincolnshire looking to set up a tie with Soham Town Rangers in the Preliminary Round, but it won’t be easy against a side that have hit form at the right time with two wins over Glossop North End and Sheffield over the past week. Lincoln have so far played 10 league games, winning 4 and losing 6, while the Blues are currently unbeaten in the Isthmian League, winning 5 and drawing 2 of the opening 7 games of the season.
Bury have had some relative success in recent years in the FA Trophy in recent seasons, reaching the First Round on a couple of occasions losing to Eastleigh and Dulwich Hamlet, but last season the Blues crashed out 2-1 at home to Horsham in their opening game. Lincoln also went out in their opening game last season losing 2-1 to Chasetown so with both sides out of the FA Cup this season, all eyes will be on success in the FA Trophy.

Injury News: Ben Chenery will still be without central defenders Taylor Hastings and Ollie Fenn both missing through injury and Joe Hood is suspended after picking up two bookings at Dereham Town last week, although on loan Sam Nunn is eligible to play in the competition.

Last time out: The two sides have never met before and this will be the first competitive meeting between the teams.

Stadium Directions: Lincoln United's ground can be found to the southwest of Lincoln in between Hykeham, Birchwood and Swanpool. A47 then A46 for 32 miles. At fork stay on A46 for 12.7 miles going through 5 roundabouts. At next roundabout take 4th exit onto Lincoln Road B1378 and continue for 1.3 miles. Turn right onto Ashby Avenue and ground will be on right.
