An end to end game but it was Histon who held on to take the win and go through to the next round of the FA Cup. On 17 minutes Ryan Stafford pulled Bury level with a low finish past the keeper and in to the bottom corner. Ollie Hughes went past two defenders in the next attack for Bury, getting to the edge of the box before a foot it from the last defender took the chance away. Ryan Stafford got forward again on 24 minutes, turning in from out wide and to the edge of the box but firing wide of the far post. Dan Brown was lively all game for Histon and on 32 minutes was clean through on the Bury keeper, but a top class save from Barden and another good save on 36 minutes denied Brown twice kept the score level into the interval.

Bury had a good shout for a penalty on 50 minutes when Ollie Hughes has hauled down in the box, but the referee was in no mood to give Bury anything and waved play on. On 55 minutes a superb tackle from Joe White won the ball from Ed Rolph who was about to shoot from inside the Bury box. Dan Brown broke down the wing on 57 minutes for Histon, going past two Bury players and on into the box only to hit his shot straight at Barden who showed safe hand to make the catch. Barden was needed again on 64 minutes and make another top class save. Evan Key hitting a venomous strike to the top far corner and Barden at full stretch made the save. Evan Key was hero turned villain on 77 minutes when he was shown a straight red for dangerous play. A flurry of yellow cards were issued as tempers were rising in the heat. Bury were on top as the game got into the latter stages but Blues could not take advantage of the extra man and Histon saw the game out to go on to the next round.
