Hadleigh United (A)

Bury go out of the Premier Cup

Bury Town go out of their last cup competition of the season. Hadleigh were better on the night and with some clinical finishing took their chances when they came. Camel Ramadan had a chance for Bury on 8 minutes but his scuffed shot from inside the box was no trouble for Hadleigh keeper Nick Punter. Hadleigh took a deserved lead on 12 minutes when Kieran Turner went through the Bury back line and hit a great strike past George Bugg in the Bury goal. Bury had another chance on 20 minutes with Ryan Horne finding some space and hitting a dipping shot with went just over the bar. A magnificent double save from Bugg on 27 minutes kept Hadleigh from going two goals in front. Cemal Ramadan and Tommy Robinson linked up well for Bury on 31 minutes with Ramadan sending a good lob down the wing and Robinson running in to the box, but a good defensive challenge denied Robinson the opportunity. A classy free kick from Dunne on 75 minutes put Hadleigh two goals up as his sweet strike went in to the top corner giving Bugg no chance. Bury finished the half strong but Hadleigh took a two-goal lead in to the break.

Half Time: Hadleigh United 2 Bury Town 0

Bury had to wait until the 52 minutes for their first chance on goal as Hadleigh kept the ball well early on. Ramadan got in to the box and was in on goal but a slight touch from behind sent Ramadan sprawling to the ground. The Ref was not impressed as he waved play on. On 54 minutes a well worked attack from Hadleigh saw Daniel Thrower head just wide of the near post. Hadleigh looked comfortable all over the pitch with some good passes and movement. Bury rarely trouble the Hadleigh keeper who had an easy night due to the defence doing their job extremely well. On 60 minutes Kyran Clements set up Robinson for a chance but a scuffed shot from Robinson was easy for the keeper to collect. On 75 minutes Hadleigh struck the killer blow with a fantastic strike from Dunne from distance which rocketed past everyone and straight in to the back of the net. The game was over for Bury all bar a consolation goal from Clements which he took very well. Ryan Jolland was sent off on 87 minutes after picking up a second yellow. Bury are now out of all cup competitions this season and will have to focus on League and trying to make the playoffs.
