Northwood go through to the next round of this seasons league cup with a good performance against a Bury side that are struggling in front of goal. Northwood did not take long to get going with a golden opportunity with just 2 minutes on the clock. A long ball upfield was beautifully brought down by James Ewington and he was in on goal, but his shot went just over the bar. Another good build up from the home side on 5 minutes saw Ned Clarke shoot wide. Emmanuel Machaya got in to the box for Bury on 8 minutes but shot straight at Northwood keeper Luke Sheldrick who made the save. Clarke had another chance for Northwood on 11 minutes but sent his shot wide of the mark. Northwood took a deserved lead on 13 minutes after Bury gave the ball away in their own half and a quick attack saw Ewington fire Northwood ahead. Bury went close to an equaliser on 26 minutes from a corner whipped in by Jake Chambers Shaw and Kyran Clements headed downward from close range but Sheldrick save well with his feet. Just before half time Ewington put the game beyond Bury as another mistake at the back and Ewington kept his cool to slot the ball past the Bury keeper on 43 minutes.

Second half Bury showed more urgency and Emmanuel Machaya had a good chance on 55 minutes, getting on the end of s long ball but hit his shot straight at Sheldrick who made the save. Cameron Ferguson pull a shot just wide for Northwood on 57 minutes. Ollie Hughes broke down the wing on 64 minutes and found Machaya in the box but again Sheldrick had it covered. Machaya had another chance on 66 minutes, getting in to a good position and shooting low Sheldrick got down well to save. On 80 minutes Bury gave the ball away again in their own half and Wilson Chingoka came inside to hit a solid strike just wide of the far post. Luis Tibbles kept the score down for Bury on 86 minutes, pulling off a superb save from Miguel Lopes De Matos from close range. A late penalty shout from Bury as Machaya was flattened in the box was waved away by the Ref. Northwood took a deserved win at the final whistle as Bury go out of this seasons league cup.
