League Cup Burnham (A)

Bury Town had to face another early exit from the FA Cup as Burnham worked hard as a team to win their way in to the next round. As expected Bury had plenty of chances to score throughout the game against their lower league opposition. On 8 minutes Ollie Hughes scuffed shot fell in to the path of Tanner Call who snatched a shot himself that went wide. Burnham went on the attack on 12 minutes with Daniel Posh showing good skills to dribble the ball through the Bury midfield and setting up Theo Alexander with a shooting chance but the Bury defence cleared the danger. Bury were awarded a free kick on 16 minutes in a good area for a strike on goal but Jake Chambers Shaw fired over the bar. Another free kick for Bury on 19 minutes was put deep into the far post by Chambers Shaw and found Ian Miller at a stretch who could only head wide. on 22 minutes Tanner Call beat Burnham keeper Sam Bunting out wide in the box but his wide angle shot lacked power and Bunting managed to scrabble back to collect the ball close to the goal line. Burnham went inches away from opening the scoring on 29 minutes with Ash Watson putting a great free kick around the Bury wall and hitting the foot of the post and out of play. With the score level at the break it was all to play for second half.

Bury were on the attack again on 59 minutes, Jake Chambers Shaw hit a powerful strike which was flying into the top corner but for a tremendous save from Sam Bunting.
