FA Trophy Horsham (H)

Bury Town looked second best for most of this FA Trophy game, especially in front of goal. Horsham were dangerous with every attack and good fortunes fell Bury's way as Horsham hit the woodwork twice. Bury had plenty of chances to score but some poor finishing from the home side coupled with some solid defending by Horsham led to a frustrating afternoon for the Blues. On 11 minutes Jake Chambers-Shaw went on the attack for Bury and found Tanner Call on the edge of the box but some great defending stopped Call in his tracks. Lewis Hyde got forward from the back on for Horsham on 14 minutes and Charles Harris found Hyde with the cross, but he hit his shot to close to Bury keeper Luis Tibbles. On 33 minutes Shaw again put a great free kick into a dangerous position at the far post, but no one anticipated the cross and the ball went harmlessly out of play. The two best chances of the half fell to the visitors with Charles Harris hitting the bar on 42 minutes then Joe Shelley hitting the post on 45 minutes, but the half ended all square.

Half Time: Bury Town 0 Horsham 0

Horsham did take a deserved lead just after the break with Robert O'Toole firing home on 47 minutes after some slick build-up play from Steven Metcalf and Tyrell Richardson. On 52 minutes Robert O'Toole hit the woodwork for the third time for Horsham, hitting a shot from some distance the ball cracked off the outside of the far post and out of play. Ollie Hughes tried to get Bury back level on 54 minutes with a run from the Bury half all the way in to the box but again some determined defending blocked the shot from Hughes. On 66 minutes a venomous shot from Ryan Horne for Bury flew goalward and was met by a superb save from Horsham keeper Josh Pelling. Bury threw everything as Horsham at the end of the half and Horsham had to wait until the 92 minutes to double their lead before Ollie Hughes pulled a goal back for Bury on 97 minutes, but it was too little too late for Bury as Horsham took a well-deserved win through to the next round of the FA Trophy.
