Striker Luke Brown makes the move to the Blues

Bury Town are delighted to introduce our second new signing of the summer as striker Luke Brown joins the club ahead of the 2023-24 season having ended the previous campaign at Needham Market.

Brown has previously played for Hitchin Town, Stowmarket Town and Soham Town Rangers. Last season he found the net 11 times in 24 appearances at Julius Martin Lane which caught the eye of higher league Needham Market and he went on to make the step up a level to where he had previously played for Hitchin Town, helping ease their relegation worries.

He also enjoyed a good spell at Stowmarket Town in the 2021-22 season, his goals helping the Greens Meadow side reach the end of season play off’s before a narrow defeat to Brentwood Town.

Paul Musgrove said “Looking at the stats, the club needs to score more goals and Luke will play a big part in that. I signed him when I was at Stowmarket and he did really well for me. He went on to play for Soham and Needham Market last season. He realises that he needs to settle at a club now and myself and Cole are looking forward to working with him”

“He’s a good intelligent lad with an eye for goal and will fit in with the culture we want to create. He brings other players into the game and he can drop into holes, he can play as a 9 or a 10 and he is an all round nice lad who will fit in well with the group”
