We remember Bury Town supporter Dave Longman one year on from his passing

Today marks one year since the death of loyal Bury Town fan Dave Longman, well known to everyone at the club for his great support despite living in Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire, often making the trip to our matches by public transport.

Dave sadly passed away one year ago today, aged just 36 after complications with his diabetes. In Dave's memory, a new trophy will be presented at the end of the season award for the 'Dave Longman Away Fans Player of the Season'. Dave was a regular away fan, as most of the matches were closer to him than home games, and a group of regular away supporters are voting after each game with the presentation to the winner being made on Friday 3rd May.

It is fitting that today is a match day for the Blues, as we travel to Barking FC in the League, and all the travelling supporters will be remembering Dave (or Beard as he was known to some!) and hoping that we get a fitting result in remembrance.
