Manager Ben Chenery reflects back on the 2018-19 season

It has been a very positive league campaign for our club and we have improved on our league position from last season, finishing 6th in the Bostik North Division. The players have been a pleasure to work with and I have enjoyed seeing each one of them grow and improve to meet the challenges which we have faced. I am sure this squad of players will continue to get better and better and I am looking forwards to seeing this come to fruition.

Things have been just as promising off the pitch and I would like to thank Russell and Chris Ward and the Board of Directors for the tireless work and commitment they have shown to keep moving Bury Town Football Club forwards. Thank you to Rebecca Frost, Chantelle Dodds, Wendy and Bernard Turner, David Scarfe, Tina Chaplin, Mary Brind, Liz , Doug Mott, Christine Powell and Jason Day  who all go above and beyond  and a special mention to Matty Lewis who along with Tina who continue to quell the players hunger after every home game and thank you to the bar staff and stewards and to LVG who offers a few words of wisdom at the players tunnel! All of these volunteers help to keep the Football Club moving forward and progressing. (Apologies if I have missed anyone out)

The Under 18 and Under 23 teams have gone from strength to strength and I am indebted to the hard work and trust which Bradley Barber, John Kennedy, Mark Jolland and  Steve Revell have given me and the progress which they have made this season.

While I stand at the front of Bury Town Football Club as the manager, I am only as good as the people I have in my backroom staff, Alex, J.K, Blair, Barbs and Jim, thank you for continuing  to drive me, challenge me and stand by my side through good times and bad and thank you to Alan Lee who has picked me up when I have needed it, reassured me in tough times and the hours and commitment he has given to the Football Club and youth teams has been exceptional.

Finally a big thank you to the fans, your support this season has been a huge driving force behind our form this season and I look forwards to welcoming you all back next season.

Ben
