Some good news as Joe Carden makes his first appearance in nearly a year

Despite the current injury crisis at the club, there was some great news on Saturday as Joe Carden made a return to the pitch after nearly a year out with an ACL injury.

Joe was injured at Aveley on 23rd February 2019 not long after signing for the club from Soham Town Rangers and has spent almost a year recovering.

He is now ready to start playing again and came on for 15 minutes in Saturday's win over Histon.

Ben Chenery said "Its great to have Joe back in contention for us. He only played a few games for us after signing and was a real big loss to us. I know how hard he has worked to get back to fitness, but we've got to make sure we ease him back into things and don't rush him.

"He will need to build up his match fitness and we'll need to keep him away from 3G pitches for the time being, but now he has had his first 15 minutes back, I'm sure he'll want to be pushing for a starting place as soon as he is ready"

"Its very difficult for players to sit around for a year not being involved, but Joe has been a credit to himself by working hard and keeping together with the rest of the squad, and it will be great to have him back"
